Default "Girls of Grit" ride

Gals on ATV's to raise money for Charity

Mi-TRALE has joined with the Ontonagon County Fair to host the first "Girls of Grit" ride. The ride will have women only ride ATV's and Side by Sides from the Ontonagon County Fairgrounds to Rockland, or for the women that can ride farther, the ride would go all the way to White Pine.

The ride will take place on Saturday, July 24th, during the Ontonagon County Fair. The ride will begin at 9:00 am EST. The women will be asked to donate $50.00. Those participating will also be asked to pay the daily admission to the fair.

The "Girls of Grit" ride will be a fundraiser for Motorsport Enthusiasts that Care(METC). METC will then donate the money to a family fighting cancer.

"This is a great way for gals to enjoy a fun ride, but also know they are doing this to help those less fortunate than themselves," stated Mi-TRALE President Skip Schulz.

"We are honored to be a part of this event. It not only is for a great cause, but also brings us another event to the fair," stated Ontonagon County Fair Board Chairman, Gail Kocher.

The "Girls of Grit" riders will register at the Mi-TRALE trailer next to the ATV/Truck XTreme Challenge Track at the Ontonagon County Fairgrounds in Greenland. The riders will then ride the "C" Trail to Rockland, and those that want to go to White Pine will then ride on the "P" Trail to the NR (Norwich Road) Preferred Route. Then NR Route then goes to the "PF" Trail, which runs to the "E" Trial into White Pine.

Schulz doesn't know how many women will want to take the ride all the way to White Pine, but he is hopefull that the ride will draw between 20 and 40 women.

"Whether it is Mother and daughters, or just friends, we're hoping the gals can 'network' to help us make this first ride a success," concluded Schulz.

For more information on the Girls of Grit ride you can call Schulz at 906-884-9101, or go to the Mi-TRALE website,
