Default Trail Conditions 2-01-18

My info is everything is in good to very good condition with an ice base and a few inches of top. Deeper further North and West.

There is a very bad spot between Castle Rock Rd and Moran on the grade.

Groomers will run on an as needed basis over the next 7 days.

A big thanks to Bobby & Ken running the West operation.
A big thanks to Wayne & Chris running the South operation who are passing it off to Tucker & Sam.

Thanks for covering for me in my absence.

I will not b updating again til next week. Our loyal members will crowd source conditions over the weekend.

Came down from SW of Rudyard down 16 Mile and picked up the Straits Area at the 47 Cedarville connector again over the weekend. Rode everything from there North (Burma 2, over to Rexton, Caffey, RR Grade) and was very good to excellent. Outstanding Ride.

Thumbs up Re: Trail Conditions 2-01-18

We rode out of St. Ignace on Saturday. Other than the grade out of town being a bit thin in spots, everything was in really good shape.

On the way back we towed a couple stranded broke down sleds back into town. They had broke down a few miles north of the Burma grade on the RR grade.

The fresh snow over the weekend really helped the trails

When we came home the ice was frozen al the way across to the island. Wondering if the ice bridge will happen. This year.

The ice bridge is not up and marked.
Kevin, a truck did go through the bay today. Thank god he got out ok and was not hurt. Hes a great guy and does a lot to help the town with anything going on.

Pretty sure nobody in town will make an effort to help with damages on his truck even though he was volunteering his time and equipment as usual. Just like helping with the snowmobile trails. I've been helping brush and sign for over ten years and it's always the same couple of business men that help. Same with grooming. How many business owners do you see volunteering for that? Lot of lazy people that don't want to help with what it takes to keep the tourists in their tourist town.

Rant over!

Well said Wink, look at Novi. They (St.Ignace) had a great spot at the show right by one of the entrances, walked in Friday night and it was empty, Saturday morning, empty, by noon the convention hall staff took it down and was replaced with tables and chairs, that will bring in the tourist! Hmm, wonder how much money was laid out.

Rode it this morning, it is passable but alot of rocks with gravel sections between castle rock rd and moran. Will get worse quick with alot of traffic. Road shoulders and towns could really use some fresh snow, Other than that strech the entire system is in great shape for the low amount of snow. Spent the week ridding from brevort.

Take the trail at castle rock Rd. Between there and Moran us the only bad spot in the trail system.
