Default Weather 12-18-17

Monday morning and the forecast was right. We had more ice fog over the weekend, and the big lake was steaming up like crazy on Saturday, inland lakes are making ice pretty good. Milder temps on Sunday and warmer today with a light mist is settling the snow down well. Another day of this tomorrow and we can see if it is worth going out to pan the trails down at all. No big snow in the immediate forecast, and the rest of the week is =going to be in the mid-20s. If we can get one storm through our area we may be in biz for x-mas new years week.
Stay tuned for more info and I will try to get some pics mid-week.

Update:
The Late week forecast is changing every 6 hours, so the next few days will see it develop. A day ago it was looking like Straits were going to get decent snow, but teh models are now pushing that snow further South. Give it a ew days before you start believing anyone on this storm it is giving the forecasters fits.

Woh. Lost more snow then I thought we would last night. It rained for awhile in Iggy, but should have been colder more inland mitigating the damage some. Groomer came in from Moran to drop the grader blade and hook up to the drag, so should be ready to go when we need it. Wayne said it is so thin on the grade and in Epoufette now that panning isn't helpful until we get some more snow... which should be Thursday.

Storm track is becoming more clear, and we should get a solid 4" out of the storm, with some models showing more, an done showing alot more. THis may be the setup that we need for hell week. In fact, the long term forecast is showing this will be the coldest X-mas to New Years we have seen in 15 years.

Glad it cooled back down. We lost a bunch of snow. Looking forward to Thursday/Friday. Looking good, but will it be enough? Forecast amounts are all over the place, with the central line running E-W through petoskey area. We shall see...
