Default Brushing & Signing 2016

This thread is your one stop shop for our bushing & signing for this year, 2016.

For the last few years we stated that unless something strange happens, our official dates will ALWAYS be the 3rd, and 4th Saturday of October. That means that this year it is supposed to be October 15th and 22nd.

You guys on this board are the ones that make this happen year in and year out. I could not do it without you, so I will check in to see how everyone is feeling about those dates for this year as October has 5 Saturdays this year.

----------------------- General Info -----------------------

If you have never been to a brushing weekend, head on up for a good time, with some hard work, and interesting stories! An appreciation gathering will be Saturday evening at a local tavern, with dinner drinks and tall tales.

We have most of the tools we will need, but if you have a favorite chainsaw or screw gun bring it for a bit of a workout.

On Saturday, optional meeting at the truck stop, 7am for breakfast.
Meet 8am at the Super 8 on US-2 in St. Ignace to load up and head out on assignments.

Rooms discounts will be available at the Super 8 & Budget Host for those helping out.

We load up, and hit it hard and sign of our trail system in one day. Some brushing needs are met too as of course, there are also always trees to be killed! We work hard, then we will play hard and have dinner afterwords at a local tavern.

Thanks to all those who do so much for our club & the program in general.
Lets get a roll call going and see who we will partying or um, working with.
See ya soon.

Can't make it the 15th because of a wedding but I will be there the 22nd if there is still work to do.

Just a FYI: got a couple PMs, sounds like we are getting loaded up on the 22nd already. Don't have a definite count yet, will update when I know more.

Looks like I won't make either weekend. We've been working on a volunteer basis the last several Saturdays but now it's mandatory for the rest of the month. Even going to be working a few Sundays. Have a major deadline to make by the first of the month. Love the money but doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Sorry, really enjoy helping.

Sorry but we can not make it this year. My Mom had stroke a few weeks ago. She is now home and we are helping her cope .

Thanks Wink, Kathy has done a great job with keeping everything together with Doctors and rehab. My family is grateful and we owe her big time. We are only 10 miles away, where my sister and brother are hours away. Mom's stroke mainly effected her speech. She is doing good and can talk pretty good if she talks slow.

Had a great time this weekend. That was about the best weather we have ever had until the last 1/2 hour and that was not that bad at all. It was absolutely beautiful out there. We got a bunch done and there is still more to go. Thanks to Jimmy and Neil and the club for dinner and hosting a good time. Can't wait to do it again. The group going this weekend will have a beautiful time in the woods. Have fun guys...

Grand Rapids crew made short work of what was left to do over the weekend. All of the brushing and signing was done by afternoon and trails should be ready to go for the season.

A huge thank you goes out to those who came up to help out. Can't do it without you!!

Hi all
Sorry I missed the brushing weekends I planned to help out this year but when I went to the MSA website to follow the link to the Straights Area website I kept getting a "website under construction" and was not able to get to where I normally logged in to this forum. (as you can see I did find a login page via google). I just thought I would pass this info along so you can address it. I know I am only one of many from out of state following your info.
Thanks for all you do, I am doing the snow dance.

Thanks O.
Our long standing relationship with the Lansing based Liquidweb is no more. They sold a portion of their business to another company, and everything was supposed to seamlessly be transferred to the new company. I have not seen a disruption in most services, however it looks like you have found 'seam'. Thanks for the heads up, I will see what I can do.
