Default Trail Conditions 2-12-15

COLD.

Just a quick Thursday update here. COLD conditions for forecasted for the area, with almost dangerous wind chill. Bundle up and keep safe out there.

Trails are in excellent shape. No issues to report. Both groomers are running a full schedule. There is still logging and a partially plowed road on the way to Rexton on the Caffey trail. We are grooming it, but it is plowed and kinda bumpy in spots.

Mackinac Island Ice Bridge is up and being used. Check local conditions, and be safe.

LaBatte Blue UP Pond Hockey championships are this weekend in St. Ignace. 200+ teams on 32 outdoor rinks constructed on Moran Bay - Lake Huron with Mackinac Island in the background. Ice bowling for the non-skaters, a fire pit and lots of LaBatts. A free area pub shuttle all weekend will keep you safe. A meet and greet with Red Wings Alum at the Mackinac Grill and VI is Thursday Night, followed by pond hockey on Friday, and the Red Wings Alum game at the ice rink on Friday night (only $10). If you have never seen the spectacle that is Pond Hockey, head on UP!

Now I know that it is Thursday I am supposed to get trail pics for everyone stuck in the office today, sorry don't have time this morning. And it is -4d outside, but trust me, conditions are super and trails are fantastic.

SO I got called down to check on some stuff at pond hockey and I dragged my butt out into the cold 5 day.

So, you get your trail candy.

So far we have had 3 days of some of the best trail riding. Not only in this area but everywhere we went. Coming back yesterday the wind gusts were strong. Made for some drifting on the trail.
One weather site I was on saying 17d for fri. and 2d for a high on sat.

Just a thought....Who pays for a new Zamboni if this one goes in the Bay?

Pond Hockey actually owns that Zamboni, it is not the one from the ice rink. We kinda assume it will go in someday, but the ice is usually monitored pretty well beforehand, so it should not be an issue.

Trails are flat and smooth and it's snowing like crazy. Having a great ride with Wink, Griz, polaris4me, and Kathy, and Jim.

I was just on US-2, can't see 200' - bet they close it soon. We are supposed to get 2-4" by noon tomorrow, but we have 2" already of light stuff.

Pond hockey is going to be interesting tomorrow.
