I guess I don't count as one of his partners in crime Oh well maybe I can hitch a ride with Toddmeister

Yep ev erything revolves around Wink (that is what we tell him anyway!)

Had everything to do with not having the signs we need, combined with a seriously crappy forecast. Just got word that the signs may not even be here on Monday now, we may have to go to Newberry to pick them up.

I am still running the brusher tomorrow, and doing trailer prep on Sunday.

I went out and trained Bobby up on the brusher on Saturday morning, then spent the rest of the day munching. Kinda forgot how fun that is, and man can you get a lot accomplished in 8 hours. RR Grade is all done up to the Iron Bridge, and I am sending the brusher West now to work on the Caffey.

Rain rain rain. All week, but long forecast is for decent day on Saturday. We can hope.

Over 300 miles on the Seney trails and about 70 on the Straits trails. The day of the Veterans ride we got rain, hail and snow!

Sorry Neil, struck out again this weekend. Nobody can go. Looks like you have enough to get some serious work done. Curt said he can come next weekend for sure so we'll be UP then. Maybe bring Floyd and Kenny also.

Life sometimes happens Wink.

Imagine the nerve, even after I put Curt and Toddmeister in the local paper! http://www.stignacenews.com/news/201...rails_Oct.html

You know that we are always grateful when anyone shows up, so no apology needed. Hopefully I can buy you a drink the following weekend.

We maybe down to 2 signing crews on Saturday, unless some unexpected people show up. Will be setup for it just in case. I have a special brushing mission I can take 1 or 2 people on too.

Countdown is on baby!

Sorry, I forgot Julie won a subscription to the paper and I am always logged on. I dug a few pics out for them to use. They chose one with a couple of hard workers... and me leaning on a shovel.

We kicked some major butt on Saturday, and I am sore as hell today! (Large saws are not for regular brushing!) We had 2 signing crews and 2 brushing crews that combined to sign 59 miles of trail, brushed about 40, did a major clear vision project, and fixed 3 bridges. I think we can knock out the rest of the signing this coming weekend. I only had a chance to grab a couple of pics, and will post them up when downloaded.

THANKS so much to those who gave their time this weekend!

Cool,
Lets get another roll call going. Anybody else heading this way? Any easy 40 miles left!

I've had a couple of people tell me they were working this weekend, but no one confirmed.

Last minute roll call here, post up or PM me if there is anyone working signing this weekend. 40 miles to go, should be able to cover it with 2 crews 1 day no problem.

Small crew this weekend - Wink & Griz drove all the way from Ohio to put some sign posts in the ground. We split them up and Hunter helped out too. We covered the remaining 40 miles of trail and should have the signing all covered - hopefully the DNR will pass us. I will let you know.

I carried my camera both weekends and wouldn't you know it I mostly forgot to take pics.

Here we have Jimmy removing an old chevron. This is one that was replaced with an yellow arrow since there was another road there.
DSCN0497.jpg
The second weekend Wink and I put a few of the yellow arrows up, and we both liked them. The visibility is much better then the chevrons, even if you only have one at a turn (still none at 'corners')

Here is a Bridge Westhouse & friends fixed up - even while signing the Northern Loop. They didn't get done until after dark!
DSCN0495.jpg

The first weekend I had a special project. Pat, Kevin and I took out a major clear vision corner area. Here is the A#1 tree clearing crew
DSCN0498.jpg
We had 2 trailer loads of brush like this:
DSCN0494.jpg
+4 piles of logs.

On the second weekend Wink and I came across a special situation. Yes, we may have had a few before this, but when you have a special situation, you come up with a creative solution. The road too narrow, the ditch way too soft and deep for a post, so we improvised:
10-27-12_1330.jpg

We capped the day off with a dinner & drinks at Timmy's
10-27-12_2357.jpg
I actually lasted past 10pm!

A huge thank you to everyone who continually helps out. I can truly say that without the support from the great people I have met through this forum, we would not have the trails in as great a shape as we do.
Thank you - thank you - thank you!
