Default Trail Conditions 2-07-11

STILL, thin and ridable. The warm temps over the weekend hit us a little, especially the RR grade. It mixed in even more rocks in the open areas, but there is still 1-2" in the thin spots, 2-6" in the other areas. The pipeline trail sections is sandy, but as always you can ride beside the actual. The center area, and west trails are in good shape, with the cut river trail getting a little sand mixed in.

Got pretty warm up here, and the medium traffic kinda tore up the trails. With 1 groomer right now, we covered the core of the system and got to the connector trails when possible. Everything should be groomed up this morning, except the Cedarville connector, and the short RR grade into Iggy. Groomer will be coming into town tonight or tomorrow to catch the rest. I hope to have our other groomer here mid-week.

Thanks Neil! Had my group ride this weekend and my wife and I both agreed the trails were great considering the weather. Nice job making something out of nothing! Everyone had a great time!

Pat,
I think we passed your group at one time toward the north side of 471 turning off the power lines. HUGE group of sleds! For a minute I didn't think I would ever see the end of that train!

6-12" of new snow... in Paradise.
6-12" of new snow... in Memphis, TN.

Not much in between, again. Blue sky and COLD temps around here again today. Great for riding, if we had some powder. No new snow, and we are still begging for it.

Groomer #6 was supposed to be returned today, however the bridge has been escorting due to wind since last night, and will continue until tonight at midnight. I didn't realize, but they don't allow oversize loads under wind escort, so that means no tractor today, we should be getting it back tomorrow.

Things are still thin, but ridable - barely going out of town. No changes for previous reports. Think snow.

Look at the bright side Neil... At least Paradise was on the receiving end of some MUCH needed snow. As Wink posted earlier, I texted him last Friday night and told him there was definately more snow in St. Ignace than Paradise. It was downright awful going through there. Trails were a "darker shade of gray"

Hey Neil, Who controls the trail going down to the bottom of the Cut River Bridge?
