Default Trail Conditions 12-24-18

Thank you Santa!
All of the forecast was for 1in or less yesterday, yet is snowed and snowed. Even picked up some last night after I went to bed. The result is 3in in town, and 4in in Moran of a light sugary snow. Just what it takes to cover everything up and make everyone happy for Christmas tomorrow. It will help out our trails some took. You could probably ride a few passes today as there was a little snow down for a base, and this would top off for cooling. It will get backed to nothing though, an/or blown off the trail. With the holiday I don't think we are going to mess with packing it in, and let it settle on its own and get ready for the Thursday event. The big question right now is what is going to happen later this week. Will Santa send us a belated gift, or drop coal? Forecast are jumping all over the pace right now as there will be a precipitation event on Thursday and Friday. The track seems to be near the straits right now, and that means they can't call if it will be rain, sleet or snow. We are going to get something, but what? Who knows. Lets keep goo thoughts right now.

So for the meantime, head out and grab that last few gifts you need. Remember to get scotch tape, cause nothing is wrapped yet, and you can't find those new rolls you bought last year - until you are almost done wrapping anyway.

I will leave you with a quick pic from my yard. We are getting there, and New Years weekend is looking up.

Default Re: Trail Conditions 12-24-18

Forecast is a bit scary for the next couple of days. Less than a 1/2" of snow followed by almost 1" or rain, and then sleet/snow, maybe 1/2" all for Thursday into Friday. That is going to slick up the trails like crazy, but at least they are calling for cold temps on the Weekend in the teens. That will finalize the base and we should be ready for....
Long range forecast is for a New Year's storm. Too far out to call, we will see, but very prelim they are talking for 4" in the EUP. That will fix us up pretty good and we should be ready to run.
Snow dance time! Let see if we can get the storm total up to 6-8in!
