Default Trail Conditions 12-17-13

We have over a foot of snow, but almost everything is lake effect type, which will pack down to ?how much?

The groomers are on the prowl today.

Thanks for the update Neil. Thought maybe we lost ya!!!?

Some guy on DooTalk posted that the conditions in Iggy were "Epic". I kind of wondered about that comment.

Hope to be UP there the weekend after New Years!!!!

I was UP last weekend working on the house and if your talking south of Castle Rock it might be epic. I think it snowed all weekend there, but not much north of town. Neil is spot on, lots of snow but its light. I used a broom to clear 6" of snow off my porch so that tells you how much moisture was in it. Its rideable, saw about a dozen sleds come through Trout Lake, but its gonna be rough with no base. Also someone decided that a joy ride in their pickup down 417 (along the RR between Trout Lake and Rexton) was a good idea. They got stuck pretty good, took a skidder to get them out. So, that probably is shot till at least late January. I know its not in the Straits system but its close enough to be noted.

Bill, I think you'll really like that motor. Did you get the air ride? Lot of things on the GSX that I like. It might be my next sled. I'm slowly turning into more of a trail cruiser than a mound pounder.

Maybe we'll meet you two for lunch sometime this year.

Congrats on the new Doo, Bill!
What motor did you end up getting in the GSX? Regardless, I'm sure you are gonna love the sled. Talked to your dealer the other day. He said he has sold 20 sleds so far this season. He had a ton of non-current sleds on the floor a month ago. Some of which were '09's and '10's. We have had a good amount of snow this winter so far, but sounds like it will ALL be gone by this weekend. Supposed to get into the 50's here Saturday and Sunday with rain all weekend Some are saying potential flooding and possibly 3" of rain by the time it's said and done. Looks like we won't be having a white Christmas this year.

Sorry Wink - Working 7 days a week, dawn till dark right now.

Epic - ah no, not by our standards by a long shot - but very very rideable, and lots of powder out there to play in.

I got the 1200 4 Tec. Reading the owners manual, can't wait to remove the muffler for routine maintance, WOW! Would be great to meet up this winter with everyone. Same weather down here, 1-3 inches of rain, possible flooding Sat. night into Sunday. We have about 8 inched of snow on the ground now but not for long.
