If ever in the New Smryna Beach, FLorid area, look me up. I operate an oceanfront All-Suite hotel here. I would love to do a trade-out with a hotel/motel operator for rooms. Let it snow! I love Mackinaw and St. Igance, MI.

Hi All,
I just joined. We have a place in Moran and I just picked up a couple used sleds over Christmas and plan to use them around the area. I hope to get updates on snow and trail conditions before I make my many trips up this winter. We live near Green Bay but both grew up near Lansing. We love it up there and are looking forward to some great rides.

I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Rick and I live in Clinton Twp. I am currently sledless and have not ridden in Michigan at all. I have ridden SW NY state, Colorado, Utah, and NW Montana. I want to get back into riding in the winter. Our summers are taken up by boating on Lake St. Clair. I have only been to the UP once, but absolutely loved it.

Hi everyone!! I'm Dave, and I've ridden in many areas of Mich, but never in St. Ignace or straits area. So I figured it was time to change that. I'm coming up tomorrow, and bringing a friend from Kentucky to so snowmobiling (don't worry, he's an ex-Michigander and we've ridden many thousands of miles together).

I hear you guys keep those trails in top condition, now I just hope Mother Nature helps by giving you something to work with.

Take care!

I have a place near Rose City, and enjoy regular trips to your part of the UP.
I am always please at the trail conditions and commend everyone involved in that effort.
I have 2 Ski Doo"s MXZ800 and an older Formuls SLS 500. I have been riding for 5 years and always make a UP trip annually, this year we will enjoy your area on Feb 8 for 5 days can't wait.
I really want to make the crossing from St Ignace to Mackinaw or is it Mackinac can't remember what spelling depending on what side of the straights you are, on any advice for that trip?

Not real sure what attracts people to the island. I personally think it sucks but thats only my opinion.

New to site and am introducing myself.
My name is Don and I live in Southwest lower Michigan. I am 63 years old and have been retired for 7 years. I ride Can-Ams in the other seasons as well as boating.

I ride Ski-Doos with my two sons. I ride a 2012 1200 4 tec. The two boys ride 2012 MXZ Xrs 800 E-tecs.

We usually ride in the area West of Cadillac, but also make several trips to the U.P. St. Ignace is always a favorite for us and other groups that come with us. Your trails always seem to be groomed and maintained very well even in low snow conditions. Keep up the good work.

We usually stay at the Budget Host Inn or the Voyager Inn when we visit your area.

Hope to meet some of you on the trails in the future. Ride Safe...

Welcome, hoping we get good snow that stays all winter. Straits does a great job on their trails. Some of us hangout at Timmy's pub after a ride, might be able to meet there.

Sounds like a plan. I'll post in advance when we will head up to St. Ignace and hopefully make some new friendships.

Hello, my name is Chet and have been riding for about 20 years. I currently own a 2011 MXZX 600 and a 2003 Grand Touring. We have a place just south of Gaylord and I have been riding that area for about 15 years. Alot of the people I used to ride with have given it up so I ride alone quite abit. For this reason I try to keep my sled up to date. I am very familiar with Marquette, Munising, Grand Marais, Newberry, Strongs/Trout Lake and also St. Ignace towards Cedarville, took a wrong turn and ended up in the airport once. Have also had the opportunity to ride in West Yellowstone, a guide tour through the park and up into the mountains (Two Top). I always enjoyed the UP and possibly a ride over to the Island one day. Getting bored with the lower. Hope to see you one day.

Hello,
I'm also a new member here and I live in Mackinaw City now and I just moved here from Indianapolis. I grew up in Windsor, Ont then lived in Detroit while going to Wayne State, then to Baton Rouge for a few years, so I get around.
I own a 92 Arctic Cat 440 and a 93 Polaris Indy 500 EFI that I picked up a few years ago with a trailer, helmets and jackets for too good of a deal to pass up. Now, that I live up here I need to get them running again and that's one reason I registered here. I'm new to working on snowmobiles, but not to fixing all things mechanical. I downloaded the repair manual already and should have the dead stator out tonight. There's not much room in these things.
What are some good used snowmobile parts places near Mackinaw or St. Ignace. I already found Cub's place.

Thank you,
Martin

Welcome!
Cub's is the only used place around that i really know about. All my parts fro sleds and ATV come from Burt Lake Marina in Indian River. Fair prices, some decent stock, and they always take care of me right away. Indian River is a easy drive from here too.

Mackinaw City and there's Mackinac Island and both are pronounced with an "aw" at the end.

Just joined this site after reading the posts regarding trail conditions. My wife and I are making our first trip to stay in St.Ignace and after all of the great reviews about the support the Budget Host provides to the trail system, we have made our reservations for Sunday and Monday. We have always stayed in Newberry prior to this but are happy to have someplace a little closer to ride from. Thanks for all of the info you provide on here, it is great and we look forward to a few days of riding your trails!

You won't be sorry. Newberry is NOT the place to be. Don't eat too many of those sausgage patties at the Budget Host.

Do your GOOD friends call you Tree becuz you're so tall? Or maybe you're attracted to them when riding

P.S. I hope you can fly better than you can spell.
