There will be a 1 day brushing and signing project on October 23 trying to cover the whole straits system.

Details are still being finalized, but should be very similar to years past.

I made a big mistake reading a message, and the date is wrong.

The correct date is the 30th of October. I should have some help with rooms for those making the trip, and as always we provide breakfast and dinner on Saturday.

What happened to the Facebook page? Been looking at that for info on brushing and there has been nothing. Would seem way easier to update there. Thanks for all the trail grading this summer, made the sxs ride out of brevort much better.

We will not be able to make it this year. Working every other saturday till the end of the year and the saturdays I have off are booked with other things.

Yep---Read about it on Ski Doo forums as well as HCS.

Supposedly Neil retired last year and the new director quit already. The club or someone is trying to work through this with the DNR.

It is not for sure yet, there is a possibility grooming " may " start. Got this from a well respected source.

I just saw the notice too. So that's it... I know that the local straits crew was small but seemed mighty and dedicated. I am shocked to see that the club is effectively dissolved without even a whimper let alone a mayday call for leadership.

Hi everyone. There is a lot of misinformation going around out there including some in the prior post. While there have been some issues this fall regarding the DNR grant for grooming activities this winter, the timing of the DNR press release today was somewhat unfortunate as these issues have mostly if not entirely been worked out. There is some repair work to be done on the club’s equipment before we can begin grooming, however that work is underway and I anticipate we will be grooming as usual this winter as soon as the conditions permit.

As of this afternoon, Neil and the other directors of the club have retired from running the club and a new team of people have been appointed. On behalf of the new club leadership and all the groomer drivers, we are particularly grateful to Neil for all the time and effort he has put into building the club over the last 20 years! His passion for the club is obvious to anyone who spends any time with him. We are also most appreciative that Neil has expressed his willingness to be a resource for the new leadership team in order to help us move forward successfully.

Be safe out there and do your best snow dance for a long and snowy winter!

Neil was extremely dedicated and did a tremendous job, especially for someone who wasn’t really a sledder.

Once we get things all squared away from an operations perspective, we may try to organize a get together one or two weekends this winter for all the supporters of the club and club folks so you can get to know us and we can get to know you.

Thanks for the update and providing some clarity on the situation. I’m sure I wasn’t the only “regular” on the forum that was shocked by the news. The club always did an exceptional job and I look forward to that continuing. I also look forward to some additional social gatherings. I was never able to make it up for the brushing weekend and beyond that there wasn’t really any other way to be active. I also am interested in running the groomer if one is still going to be staged out of trout lake, I can’t be a regular but can offer some relief.

Thank you to the past and future crew, your efforts and dedication certainly do not go unnoticed!
