For a moment I thought maybe I was up helping, judging by the glare off one's melon it looked like me . But then I seen who it was.

A huge thank you to all that came up to help out. Help out, hell you all carried the load great, and we just about got everything covered. Some touch up after deer season, and we should be pretty good to go.

Some decent brusher work on the Caffey, and Cut River trails and I will be a vary happy camper. A little Rrrrnt never hurt nobody (but the trees!)

It was great seeing people again, and meeting a couple new faces over the weeks.

BTW, hope you are getting in the mood, we actually had sleet in a rainstorm here today. Julie got me a new weather station for my b-day, so I can report winds and liquid precip this season.

This is way late getting posted, but better late than never I guess . We were totally knocked out by Todd at the end of the first day. Yep that's a genuine certified barley pop in his hot little hand. Must have decided we done good that day huh Todd

Got a little problem here Neil, can't get the pics to load??

Never mind figured it out-too big will work on this later.

OK it' now officially later- -at least I got it in this year. Anxious to get UP there with the snow machine, putting the skid back in today. Anyhow here are the pics I didn't get in earlier--from the first brushing. All those proud looks at the stop sign were because we got the first sign of the season done, then Todd had to have a beer.

Again, thank to those who came up to help get our trail ready for the season, we could not have done it without you.

Remember the stories I told about crews a few years ago not packing any of the holes, and all of the signs spinning around and freezing in facing the woods? Some did not believe me cause it sounded nuts, but take a look at this
IMG_3205.jpg
If you look close, this stop sign, and marker are rotated about 30d to the trail direction, facing out in the swamp.
I was harping on packing the holes just for this reason. Can you imagine this happening to most of the signs out there? I actually doubt this was installed wrong this year, in fact, I think this was an older sign, and we had 2 very nasty wind storms this fall, I would be surprised if there are not a few more like this out there. I will have to make a trip back with a screw gun and move the sign around a bit, and it will be good to go.

Wink, I am not blaming anyone for this, for sure. In fact I have seen correctly installed signs do this in high enough winds. When you have 4 solid days of winds above 40-50 mph, it is going to work a sign around even in a correctly packed hole. Looking at the post, this looks like an older sign, so it has gone through at least 1 season OK, and then rotated. Maybe it is just the sign gremlins!? Thing is when the holes are not packed at all, then all do it in a slight breeze.

Your right Griz.
If the sign is at Cheeseman road, than yes. Its all Wink and Kathys fault.
