We got about 1" of wet snow on x-mas eve. x-mas day the grinch showed up at took over 1/2 our snow away. There is a few grass patchs showing up here and there. The trails in the woods still have some snow on them, but nothing meaningful. THe RR Grade shows dirt patches here and there. I really do not see running a groomer until we get some more snow. The big x-mas blizzard of 2009 turned into giant bust.

Thanks Neil for the info... I've been anxiously tracking the weather. We have reservations for New Years at the Driftwood, and I"m keeping fingers crossed to not have to cancel. Keep us posted. Thanks so much!

UPDATE:
Today we did get about 1" of nice big flakes. Just enought to cover everything again, and make it white. If this keeps up, maybe in 20 or 30 days, I can get my sleds out!

I'll have to guide him out to the trailer to remind him what they look like

Quick UPDATE:
Iggy got about 3-4" last night, and Moran was 4-5". Sending the Brevort Groomer out for a short trip after lunch. Planning on panning the whole system again for New Years. Every few inches helps.

Just talked to a groomer. Brevort to Trout Lake is thin, but OK. Over to Cut River is decent too. A few rocks poking through the RR Grade North of Iggy, in the open areas.
There are a couple of trailers in the rick rink parking. Dave saw 48 sleds on the North loop today. HAZARD: a few miles North of the Burma Grade, on the RR grade, beaver damn, or plugged culvert has 8" of water over the trail. I will try to have it checked out to see if it can be drained, but be on the lookout for now.

We will be up friday morning. Is Casle Rock road plowed? Or is the R/R grade good to ride out from St Iggy?

I am due up Sunday night. Does anyone have thoughts on riding out of Iggy, or do you think we will have to trailer out? Just trying to decide if we can stay in Iggy or not. My first choice is always Ignace. Thanks for any input.

Knarley is an Awesome thing! We rode from the Falls down to Newberry and down to Brevort and St. Ignace. The railroad grade coming out of St. Ignace was good to the bulkhead. North of that you can hear the rocks hitting the bottom of the Sleds. So we took the Castlerock trail towards Brevort and they were perfect! All the rest of the trails to the Falls were perfectly smooth! We passed both the Straits and the TASA groomers. If you want an Awesome breakfast you gotta try Bayview inn in Cut River thier Omlettes are HUGE! and well worth it. I think the Straits groomer followed us there. Hey, Neil you christmas lights look awesome at night at the Super8.
