Nothing new to report around here since last update. The snow is actually staying around, but did melt from the bottom up a bit. We have maybe 4" on the level, and people are out plowing today. It is staying cold, so I think the snow is here to stay, especially with the forecast for anything from "some snow" to a major winter storm for the rest of the week. Supposed to start late tomorrow, and run for several days including lake effect. We will see what we get.
I still do not plan on waisting diesel fuel until we get some more accumulation. Once we get another 4-6" then we will get the trails panned down. Groomer #5 is back in Iggy w/drag and ready to go out. #6 is back in Moran, and will do another small brushing project before it comes back to get its drag Tuesday. Otherwise the trails are all ready to go, bring on the snow! I have a call in about logging this year. I fear that we are going to have to deal with it again as there is still a huge amount stacked on the North end of the truck trail. and they may be logging near the trail stop too. We will see.

Neil,
Do you know if the truck trail south of the Caffey was graded since October? It was a "holey" mess when we brushed/signed.

Todd,
Yes it was graded, several times from what I understand. In fact, Dave and I met the grader plowing the road when we were on our drive. Now the bad news - it didn't do any good. That trail is trashed, and will have to have serious attention in the spring. For now, he ran the grader over it to cut the tops of the ruts off, but we are going to need some wet snow to pack into the holes. Right now, the trail is plowed from Brevort all the way through to the Huckleberry Rd.

Well, let's hope for lots of cold and snow to make it decent for riding then....
