Default Trail Conditions 2-13-17

Just a quick update to let you know that trails are in very good condition. Everything was groomed up great on Saturday night - after by far the heaviest traffic day we have seen all season. After that we got 4" of heavy wet fantastic snow - being the best snow we have had all year. Both groomer ran on top of that and right now I would say out trails are in every good to excellent condition. I expect teh county to still go out and plow about 2 miles of trail 471 at teh intersection of Castle Rock and Round lake roads, but other then that no issues to report.

Enjoy, and I will elaborate more when I have a chance.

Rode the area Friday thru Monday morning - everything was great. The Cedarville connector could use a touch up. Doesn't look like it was groomed all weekend.

Was interesting Sunday night with all the snow and wind. A couple roads were impassible with all the drifting. Couldn't find the road in several spots coming back to camp around 8PM.

Fresh groom Monday morning from the Cedarville side.

So without using a crystal ball, I will venture to say that this week very well may be teh best riding in our area all season. Groomer driver parked last night and told me that trails were a 9.9 out of 10. Can't really beat that!

Since this is a season of highs and lows, that is teh high, here is the low: the forecast. Starting to scare me a bit as another warm trend is coming in, and it is supposed to get pretty darn warm this weekend, and last for several days. It is going to tear up the trails something bad this weekend, and is going to do do a number on Pond Hockey as well. Lets hope they are a few degrees on the warm side for this, and get some miles down while you can!

I hear ya, Kevin. 39 sounds a tad bit more tolerable than 40, lol. Throw in the mostly/partly sunny factor, and it's got me concerned. Sure hope things change. Supposedly gonna hit close to 60 at home this weekend.

Live report from Groomer #5: Wayne is 1/2 done with the Cedarville connector, says that it has plenty of snow and is in about the best shape he has ever seen it.

ALSO: Warning, got a report there is a tree down across the trail somewhere between Trout Lake and Moran on the RR grade. We are dispatching a sled to investigate and remove.
