Default Trek the Might Mac - ATV Bridge Crossing Oct 3rd 2015

After quite a bit of time and planning the registration is now live for the Trek the Mighty Mac ATV Ride. It is the first time ever that ATVs have been allowed on the Mackinac Bridge. Check it out, and get your registration in!

That info is a bit outdated, I was told a couple days ago it is 1400 and climbing.

This place is going to be a zoo that weekend. Any club member that has helped brushing and signing in the last couple of years PM me, and I will help out with some parking in Iggy after the ride on my property so you can try to avoid some of the crowds.

A group of six of us will be there Friday morning and leaving on Sunday. We'll be staying at the Budget Host.

When I spoke with the lady at the St. Ignace Chamber she said there was around 1500 registered at that time. The lady at the Budget Host said the rooms were filling fast.

We plan on riding Saturday after the Bridge Trek. Sounds like a good time.

Also guessing I'll win a lot of money at the Casino on Friday and Saturday nights as well.

egistration is brisk, but a computer accounting error inflated the numbers.

It is popular, and will be a ton of fun, but not 1500 registered as of yet.

Now, I have had this question privately a few times, so I will post it up public to help get the info out:

Quote:
We snowmobile the St. Ignace area several times during the Winter and now are planning a trip with some friends on the side x side.

Question--Is the rail grade to Trout Lake and the trails to the West (2--470--471--473) open to ATVs as well as 47 to the East ???

I can not seem to get accurate information from the ATV sites.

Thank you in advance for any direction you can give me.
We have areas that are very ATV friendly, and those are not, and the simple way to separate the 2, is just the division in the DNR and USFS lands. The East side of our trails is on USFS land, and the West side is on DNR lands. DNR is pretty much open unless posted closed, and the USFS is opposite, so closed unless posted open.

If you know our trail numbers, then I will tell you that you can ride out of Iggy on 2, but do not take 471 around the South of Brevort Lake. Also you can not take 47, East towards Cedarville. Otherwise for the most part, the rest of our trails are open to ATV traffic. The off trail stuff I will refer to the above statements.

Our club is not planning any special rides for this event, however there should be some sort of get-together whether formal or informal, who knows. You are welcome to toss out some ideas, but I would not be finalizing anything for quite some time.

Well, 1100 registered so far. I am super surprised that ATVs are beating SXS by almost 2:1 ratio, I thought it would be the other way around.

Need another 300 or so for a world record attempt.

Thank you for the update.

We are coming up with one side x side and two quads, so I guess you ratio is accurate.

Side x sides are really just beginning to get market share. In a few years I'm guessing it will be 50/50.............

My sources in the industry tell me they are outselling at a 4:1 ratio, but that includes all versions of SXS, gators, buggys and the like.

As of Monday there was over 1200 vehicles registered.
Being the first year, I am sure that there will be many kinks to be worked out. I am not in the planning at all anymore, but I will probably be helping in some capacity the day of. Since the ending location is at Little Bear ice rink, if anyone on this board would like to park their truck or trailer at my house, or my property please message me on here on the forum, and we will see what we can do. I think the ice rink area is going to be really crowded on Saturday afternoon.

Pretty good turnout for the first event. Things went smooth with no serious complaints. We had 1340 make the crossing.

Plans will be improved to make next year more fun with more to do, and more fun to be had!

Lost of comments, and a few pics posted up by people on facebook, and one full crossing video showing the whole thing.

(I stole these pics of the Mac City staging area)

Anyone going to the 2016 Bridge Trek this Saturday (Oct. 1 ) ??

Wife and I and two other couples are coming up on Wednesday. We're going to do a little sightseeing before the ride on Saturday.
