Default Weather Conditions 1-05-15

Well the weekend storms produced a ton of wind, and on the low side of the forecast. At least we do have some snow on the ground now, but not a ton. I have not heard from the outer trails as of yet, reports will come in later today. The snow in Iggy is sugary and not good grooming snow. We have on the very low side to go out panning, so I think we will wait another day or tow here. The forecast is calling for another 3-5" on Tuesday night and that should put us over the edge and finally get thing running. The ground is frozen and we have a little snow down, just looking for some accumulation now.

We were out today, took a short trip Trout Lake up to Hulbert for dinner. It was pretty decent riding, ran into the groomer filling in a water hole and there was enough snow around to seal it right up! Not the awesome riding seen last year this time but defiantly ridable!

It's been a while...sooo busy with work. I was out on Friday and ride Newberry to Pine Stump, lots of snow, lots of bumps and lots of people! I did pass 3-groomers on the that short ride though so they are trying.

Saturday I woke up in Bevort to a few inches of fresh snow so I rode up to Trout Lake. No People, No Bumps and a very nice ride. Nice ice base with about 4-6" of snow on top to lube those slides.

Once panned/Groomed we will once again have the nicest trails in Michigan!

We did not get the 3-5", only about 1" materialized. We are gaining on it. Still planning on some runs before the weekend.

Thursday Scattered snow showers before noon, then snow with widespread blowing snow after noon. High near 17. Wind chill values as low as -19. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around 2 inches.
Thursday Night Snow with widespread blowing snow. Low around 7. Wind chill values as low as -5. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

We hope to be UP this weekend also. Not totally sure as we all caught the flu bug last week up there but trying to get rid of it in time to be there Friday.

Must be a sorted story there.

FYI national forecasts seem to be holding around 1-3 for the next couple days.

Local 9-10 decided to drink a little I think as they kicked us up to be right in the heard of 8" Guess we will see if they sober up before tomorrow.

They are holding our forecast for 6-8" overnight. This would be our biggest snow since November. Fingers crossed.

Got some parts, so decided to bring groomers in for nagging maintenance on Friday. Hope to be pulling drags on Friday night, Saturday at the latest.
