Default Weather Conditions 12-11-14

Sunny days are prevailing in the straits area lately. We continue to have not enough snow to groom, and there is no decent snows in the forecast. In fact things are looking like a warm-up over the weekend.

Quote:
Friday Cloudy, with a high near 36. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday Night Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 30. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday Areas of fog before 1pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 37. West wind around 10 mph.
Saturday Night Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 34.
Sunday Areas of fog before 1pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 39.
Sunday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.
Monday A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 40.
Monday Night A chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a low around 31.
Tuesday A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32.
Tuesday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.
Wednesday Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28.
Next weeks snows are just supposed to be minor events, so the waiting continues. We are getting some stuff done however, and Bob is putting some decent time in the brusher, just making the RR Grade that much better. He is about 1/3 of the way to Trout Lake now, doing the heavy push-back brushing that lasted 5-6 years from the last time. We will run that until the snow dictates it is time to start grooming.

The frost is getting into the ground, now, so what we get will not melt from the bottom up like last time. If you need a riding fix, the internet says that there is OK riding along Superior, so check out a road trip to put some miles on.

Since I get razzed for my season totals, you can add another 5 miles, worked on Mackinac Island again yesterday and borrowed a Bearcat from a friend. The island has some ice on the roads, but most areas are really thin there too. Hopefully we get an ice bridge again this year so others can enjoy the island in the wintertime!

Warmer today, 32d when I got up, with a light rain/mist that is making some crazy black Ice. Fog this time of year is not a good thing.

Still in a wait and see mode around here.
