We will be there bright and early Saturday morning. No saws but will try and grab some beavers along the way.

Well, we will have a light signing mission for this weekend, so.....

We are all go for one of the biggest brushing projects in a long time! How does 100' of virgin trail sound? Gonna send the signing crews out to do a quick job, and then meet us out on Mackinac Trail to fix a long-standing problem once and for all. This section of trail caused $1000 of damage to the groomer last winter, and this will be the last time. No more shoulder riding along that stretch after we are done.

See you this weekend!

Just wanted to give a big Thank You to the crew that was UP last weekend. Hope to get a lot accomplished this weekend as well. Looking at the forecast, it sounds like we should have perfect brushing weather.

And maybe the warmer temps will bring out those beavers!

We got it done!!!
New trail, 20' wide!! We knocked it out in know time. Even had the groom there to level the trail when we were done cutting and brushing. and the signing crews to sign it.

Great job to everyone. A good time to work with a great bunch of guys and gals, that really care about this club and the sport of snowmobiling.

The last pic is the last tree we cut down.

It was an emotional moment cutting down that last tree!

What an awesome day to be out on part of the absolute best trail system in the entire state. As usual, Neil did a great job coordinating the trail relocation project It's amazing how different they look when there's no snow on them and covered with leaves. I hope to take another pic of this section this winter.

Yep, great job there guys. We sent The Greand Rapids guys out the West lower loop to finish up the signing, which was done by at noon, then then went over to fix up the bridge railing on the truck trail. Jimmy took our rookies (nice to meet you and your wife Randy) out signing from Iggy on the RR Grade and signed out towards us at the end of the Cedarville connector. Meanwhile the 8 of us started on the trail relocate. In this are teh trail went along teh gravel shoulder of Mackinac Trail, so we decided to relocate it through the woods so sleds and the groomer can avoid the road along this 1/4 mile. The 'North crew' brushed through some virgin forest for about 550 feet down to the open area. The SOuth crew the 2 Grand Rapids boys, we gave a chainsaw and 4 wheeler to drag trees. They only had 250 feet, but theirs was a lot thicker! I spend a couple hours filling, grading and leveling the middle 600 feet so we could plant a trail well away from the ditch. We broke through the majority of the trail just befor lunch at 1pm. The Rookies showed up to help pole saw clean up things shortly thereafter, and the rest of the crew showed up to celebrate the new trail around 3.

I was running around so much, I only got a couple of pics. A before and after on the Southern chunk, a pic looking down the new North piece and a pic on the nice flat area in the middle. Then lastly the entrance to the North part they we opened up, all ready for ribbon cutting!

We followed things up with a nice big dinner and drinks at the VI. Great to see everybody after a long summer season, great to meet some new faces, and nice to say that aside of just a couple orange signs, and some final grading on the RR grade, our trails are ready for another great season.

Thanks again to everyone who comes to help, we certainly could not do this without your wonderful help, and hears to some even better things in the coming year!

550 ft.?????? And you call yourself a surveyor! I think that's pretty darn conservative. It was at least 560 ft. Somewhere between that and 9 miles!!!!!

It was fun working with the crew we had. A special tip of the hat to Kevin's wife Kathy. She worked as hard as any of us dragging logs away and clearing brush. She also brought one helluva snack buffet!!!! Thanks Kathy.

Thanks Neil for organizing all this and giving us a chance to give something back to our sport. I'll keep coming back as long as I'm able.
