Default Trail Conditions 1-23-17

Mother nature is seriously mad at us. Trails may have a base, but they are done. Saturday afternoon the RR grade was like a 4″ deep slush river. We have now had a week of above freezing conditions, we have lost 2 feet of snow, and there is grass poking out in my yard and around town. All of the roads are bare and we are in re-building mode. It was ridiculous thick fog around here all weekend, and even though it has lightened up some, it is a light drizzle now, heading to more rain showers and a high of 40d today.

The upcoming forecast has some points to look forward to, but we still have to get through more of this first. Rain today and tomorrow and in the high 30s until Wednesday. They are calling for barely freezing temps, and 1-3″ of wet snow here that day. After that the lake effect is supposed to start kicking in again. Who knows if that will get us enough to get things going around here or not. We haven’t run the groomer is some time, and right now the plan is to run Wednesday afternoon-evening and flatten things back down before the freeze. Hopefully people will stay off the trails until they freeze down and our base is established again.

So right now we are in a wait and see mode again. I will know much more about the coming weekend on Wednesday, and will make sure to give you a good update on Thursday morning with pics and conditions for your weekend plans. Think positive.
