North of Rexton is groomed by TASA out of Newberry, they usually skip it on the weekends to concentrate on their trails to the North.

St Ignace to Trout Lake to Rexton to Newberry to Shingleton to Munising, 161 miles per VMapping. That's figuring the shortest possible distance (skipping Curtis)

As far as the TASA connectors, Rexton to Newberry was decent Sat evening, Rexton to Trout Lake along the RR track (Molly Gibbs Trail) is froze in and open but it's very rough.

We pulled a Polaris Ranger out of that hole 2 years ago, it was DEEP that Summer. The water was running fast enough to float & turn him sideways in the hole and almost tipped him over. Hopefully the...

There were tracks around the backside of the quarry, West of Caffey, it's tight in there but open.

For those that ride this way, I opened 473 (TASA) from Trout Lake rd by the RR tracks to Dinkey...

We rode this last sunday afternoon...
The trail 2 (TASA) from Cut River Inn/Skyline to Rexton is clear and in decent shape, trail 473 (TASA) is OK from Rexton to Trout Lake Rd, from there it is not...

If I get a chance & the weather holds out I'm going to try to ride from Rex to the East & go down the Caffey, I'll grab my pruners & hand saw. I'll post later if it works out.

Us too most likely, I don't like riding when the trails are like ice cubes, have to go out of the country next week & possibly the week after for work then headed South for Spring Break.

There's a lot of snow but it doesn't pack well, trails get tore up very quickly.

I was at the Lumberjack on Sat talking to Rex (Chip Snow Pres) and he was telling me the same thing. Says they can only groom with 100% club owned equipment after 4/1 with no reimbursement.

It has more to due with weather & traffic, the snow we got was fluffy & dry so it doesnt pack down, add to that a lot of traffic with what is a long weekend for many. Not much can be done about it.

No worries Wink, latest forecast show 36* Sun & 34* Mon, below freezing at night. There's so much snow right now, it should help it settle & firm up.

We hit -7f in Rexton before it started dropping again, didn't leave the house much. Took my nephew out for a quick spin off trail but both our shields were frosting over even with electric shields....

Yes, not windchill numbers. Taken from my $10 electronic thermometer, verified by the $3 plastic dial thermometer......that's as official as it gets in Rexton :smilielol
