I told you that East wind direction was finicky. It...

Trail Conditions 1-15-18

No change. Trails are dirt in some spots, ice in others. No-go South of Moran. Up by Tout Lake MAY be usable, but I can't guarantee it. We are not grooming, and I don't think anyone else is going...

Re: Trail Conditions 1-11-18

It was 55d yesterday, this morning it is 12d. Lots 43d of temp, and tons of snow. We have had a few flurries, but nothing like we need. Looking for lots of snow to restart grooming.

Temps are...

It topped 55d today at lunchtime. Still 48d here at 6:30pm.

We are very likely going to completely suspend grooming until we get more snow.

Trail Conditions 1-11-18

It hasn't rained a ton yet, but is still supposed to off and on through the day.

The...

Re: Trail Conditions 1-08-18

Quick update: Sleds on the ground are saying we are already losing parts of the grade between Iggy and Moran. I assume Castle Rock will be plowed today, so trailering out of town may be a good...

Trail Conditions 1-08-18

So mother nature sent me a bit of a late christmas present, maybe I wasn't as bad as I thought.

I was not expecting any real snow over teh weekend, and we didn't really see anything at my house in...

Re: Trail Conditions 1-04-18

-12 this morning at the house.

The breeze is killer. It almost hurts to be outside any length of time.

If you are thinking about riding anywhere, make sure you bundle up with more than usual...

Trail Conditions 1-04-18

Another day, same conditions out there. Very little to update except the temps. Temps this morning ranged from -4 to -17 across our trail system, and here mid-day it is still only -2. It is...

Trail Conditions 1-02-18

Our conditions have not changed. Kicking off 2018 with super sneaky conditions that look decent, but are really tough to deal with. There is about 6" of snow in the yards, but it is all lake effect...

Re: Trail Conditions 12-28-17

Big shout out to Tim B. up in Trout Lake who trimmed up the big tree so people could get under it a couple days ago.

And also a huge thank you to Kenny who took me up to cut that and another tree...

@Tony
Things are very thin around here. There have been some sleds riding, but it is a long long ways from good. Snirt and rocks are coming through the tail in alot of places, and we have not done...

Re: Trail Conditions 12-28-17

So here is the skinny.

Wayne came into town and took teh groomer from Iggy to the Burma on the RR Grade. He said it was hands down the worst first groomer trip he has ever taken. It apparently...

NOTICE:

We have a tree down completely blocking the trail about 1 miles South of Trout Lake. Trying to find someone that can get it opened up.

Re: Trail Conditions 12-28-17

@raypa
I would say right now it is not a good idea. We can pick up snow between now and then though, and we really only need 3-4" of GOOD snow. Lake effect is next to useless.

The snow totals I...

Re: Trail Conditions 12-28-17

The next few hours brang... SNOW!
Nothing at 3:30 this morning, and I awoke to a solid 2" in Iggy. Epoufette is in the 2-3" class, and Moran was around 5". Only bad thing is there is zero moisture...

Radar isn't showing the help from lake effect so far, and Iggy only has a trace.

Wonder what the next few hours will bring?

Re: Trail Conditions 12-28-17

Waynes trail inspection confirmed that there isn't enough to pan down out there yet. only 4" in most places, with just a little more in the woods on the South side.

Pics are what you will find on...

Re: Trail Conditions 12-26-17

For a good visual on the snow cover check out the 2 maps. These are never 100% right, but give you a decent idea.

Right now it looks like decent riding from the Soo to Munising.
Damn snowbelt snow...

Re: Trail Conditions 12-26-17

4 degrees this morning, and Iggy is the warm spot on our system. On our way to the high of a whole 12. The remained of 2017 is certainly going to be chilly, as 12-15 will be the high for the next...
