We are in Northern Michigan right? And it is January right?

I am heading this as a weather condition, because I will not have trail conditions today. Things are so soft, we are holding the groomers for the next 24 hours.

Temp right now is 39d. It has not rained, and that is a very good thing. It is supposed to head toward 20d tomorrow evening, and snow is expected, (I have not heard on an amount) We will be sending out both groomers tomorrow night to hopefully get a real nice smooth base for when it freezes. At this point, I am recommending that you stay off the trail until Saturday morning. Not because that they are completely shot, but it will save them. Any traffic right now and they will be destroyed in no time. It is very warm out, and is slushy in St. Ignace.

As you can read more about in the announcement, the Poker Run is on for Saturday. I am afraid at this point that I can not predict the trail conditions. My gut tells me that they are going to be OK, but get tore up on Saturday. We need this storm on Friday to dump on us, cross your fingers. If things are very very bad, the whole run can still be made in a car. No it is not the same, but if people are up hear anyway, might as well have some fun and hang out with friends. Several key Club officers will be at various functions there so come on up and meet us! (My wife and I have been tapped to DJ/MC the end again)

The trails will freeze on Friday night, and I expect many areas to be ICY on Saturday. If you do ride you really need to be careful. Back it down 15MPH even if you don't think you need to, conditions may change drastically from Mile to Mile. and we don't need anymore of these:

Snowmobile fatal reported

By KURT HAUGLIE, Gazette Writer

COPPER HARBOR - A single-vehicle snowmobile accident Monday proved fatal for a 47-year-old Iowa man, according to Keweenaw County Sheriff Ron Lahti. At about 8:30 p.m., a call was made to the sheriff's office about the accident. A deputy found that Clark Alan Baker, of Cambridge, Iowa, apparently was traveling southbound on Trail 135 near Copper Harbor when he failed to negotiate a curve. He was ejected from his machine and struck a tree.

:censored: Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh !!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

They changed the forecast for the weekend AGAIN !!

It is going to cool off this weekend, but now they are saying we may not get much system snow. It is going to depend on the lake effect, and as we all know, it is quite unpredictable. These jokers are ridiculous, if I ran my company like that I would be out of business in no time!

It is 11:30PM, and it is 34d at my house. We did not run the groomers today, but plan on trips tomorrow night as it begins to freeze.

I checked the trail out of town today, and there was snow on it, about 5 inches deep. It was extremely soft though, and it will not hold traffic long. I plan on going out and taking a few pics of the trail for you. It will be be between lunch and 5pm, sometime that way those who are thinking of heading up tomorrow evening will see the absolute latest info.
