Below is the overview of the all new 911 Snowmobile Locater System in place in Mackinac, Luce and Chippewa Counties. These signs are on all of the snowmobile trails in each of those counties. (received from LawDog)

And, since I have been messing around with some GPS files, check this one out:
Here is a neat new thing. I was messing around with some mapping programs I have, and I was able to overlay ALL OF THE 911 SIGNS IN THE EASTERN UP on goggle earth.
If you have goggle earth, download the attached file to your desktop, and simply open it up, with the bottom 2 options checked on the dialog box. You will see all of the signs show up as flags with their # next to them, overlayed on the goggle earth maps. It looks to me like there are some gaps in the trails, but you can kinda see where they all go.
I do see some problems with our trails though, especially in the Brevort Lake Rd area. I will have to see the 911 director about getting them corrected.
That's all neat stuff. It's neat to see when the aerial photos were taken. If you look down in the bottom left corner, it tells the date. Some of those around Iggy were 2004 and 2005. They merge them together. The ones around our area were February 2006. I zoomed in on my old shop and could see my 05 Yellow Colorado parked out back.
