Snow VP

OK, just got off the phone with groomer Dave and here is the skinny:
All trails are ridable. They are very thin with snow, only about 4-6 inches worth, but where the groomer has been running, it IS HOLDING. Temps are holding right at freezing for now, if we get 2 days of 40s it is likely all done, but for now it is holding OK. You can ride if you want to, conditions are far from ideal, but if you really want to ride you can.
Problem areas:
RR Grade, from Castle Rock Road, North to Moran = some very thin spots in the open areas.
Pipeline - Between the Dam road, West to Brevort Camp Rd = snow on the actual trail surface is all but gone, nothing but sand left. There is a little snow along the edge of the pipeline, up next to the trees where you could possibly ride.
Burma West - the Western 2 miles of the Burma Grade, from the Push Pull Road, West to the Carp River Truck Trail = this is in similar condition to the pipeline. Very thin to no snow, but there is some on the edges, and just off the trail, you could possibly get around it, but I can't guarantee it. This is the area where we graded this year, and it is a bit tore up right now.
Cut River Stub = someone has been driving a truck on this road and mixed in a bunch of sand with the snow. There is some snow on the trail, but with the sand mixed in (as of yesterday) if we get anything above freezing it will probably go quick.
Most trails have a mix of heavy snow and ice about 4-6 inchs thick only 8 feet wide where the groomer was driving. The groomer is still running a limited schedule, we need snow. If you ride, slow down as control in these conditions is not good.
Check out the trail condition post for 12-28-05 for more info and pics of the trail condition.
