Snow VP

Well, Merry Day-After-Christmas, I hope everyone got what they asked for.
I have been out of town for the last couple of days, and it was raining quite good when I left. The actual St. Ignace area got hit quite hard, and lost about 1/2 of the snow we had. I actually have some grass showing in yard. That being said, can you believe that I am going to report that the trails are in good shape? I checked 4 locations on my way home last night, and one of the guys took the groomer out while I was gone. The trails look to have about a 6" base, and very compact and smooth. The best thing we can do is groom during a warm spell, and then let it freeze. It is currently 30 degrees, and the snow is getting crunchy. If we can get lucky enough to hold this, the trails will freeze and hold up well, even with the thin base.
I would say that the RR grade is probably thin, and you might hit some dirt/pavement leaving St. Ignace, but once you get out into the woods, it actually looks like it should be OK - as long as we don't get a ton of traffic.
So if any of you have actually made it up, please post your experience on the Area Information - Discussion board.
A Posting Change:
Since I did not anticipate people posting in this forum, I have been sticking, and closing each trail condition thread. From now on, I will stick the current trail report to the top, but not close the thread. This means that if you wish to ask a question, or post a response to the trail conditions on a current date, you may do so just by replying to the message. (I will add this note to current conditions all week)
