Snow VP

It is currently 20d with light snow. Over the last 24 hrs we received about an additional inch. All of the big lake effect forecasted, never materialized for this immediate area. Total we have 5"-6" on the ground with 0"-2" on most trails. There is no base to speak of at this point.
I had indicated last week that things were thin in areas, and this weekend it only got worse. The thin snow, combined with wind and sled traffic have completely obliterated some sections of trail right down to gravel. There are still some areas that have decent riding, but everywhere is still thin, and with the beat down areas, I'm not going to detail every trail until conditions improve.
The groomer did go out on Sunday morning and did the left side of the lower loop. The driver indicated much of the same types of conditions. Wherever wind got to the trail, things are toast.
Current forecast is providing good temps, but only a 40% chance of snow for the majority of this week. A good system snow is still needed to get the base down and provide something to groom.
Sorry I don't have a better outlook for you, all I can do is explain the conditions that are out there. If you really need to ride, and don't mind spending a little on carbides and hyfax it can be done, just understand what you are getting into.
