I am rather tired of having to jump the tractors to get them started after a few weeks/month of sitting. The batteries are not really that old, and I think they will benefit from a charger/maintainer. Anyone know of a decent model that I can mount directly to the tractor and handle the large duel batteries on a groomer? It needs to be able to handle the exposer of mounting directly on the tractor. I was going to wire it into the existing 110 system powering the block heater and hydro heaters.

That is a good idea Neal. More of my customers are putting maintainers on their big equipment. I have seen various brands and sizes used that are permanently mounted to the tractor, where all you need to do is plug it in to the 110V. Can't really recommend a particular brand to go with or stay away from. I use a Sears maintainer for the boat and sled, and is only a 2 amp. charge. I would definately get one a little bigger for the larger batteries diesel engines use. You might want to give the John Deere dealer a call for size recommendation. Just don't fall into a trap and think that because it says John Deere on it it must be the best. You will overpay for the name, and they are probable made by Schumacher or someone else. JMO

hanks Floyd. Ya, I am about all done paying for brands on things. Most of it comes out of the same factories, just a different sticker on it.
I am learning quite a bit about them here in the last couple of days. Leaning towards a marine type charger/maintainer compatible with the newer glass matt bats so we can keep them for a while.

Neil,
I have exactly what you need. I've tried selling it on Craigslist a few times with no luck. PM me and I'll send you some pictures.
