Neil, maybe the club could think about having a chili cook someplace on the trail on a Saturday if we ever get snow. We could set up a tripod with a big pot over a fire. Make a big batch of chili and serve it in styrofoam cups. $1 a cup. We could have bottled water or pop. It wouldn't be a big money maker but might be fun. I'd work it.
I was riding someplace years ago, maybe Petoskey, and their club did a bean soup cook every Saturday at the same place on the trail. It was where about 3 trails came together. They had an old concession trailer set up there. Couldn't believe how many sleds stopped. They used to have something like that on the main trail up at Munising (maybe they still do), right where it crosses H13.

Fun idea Wink, it has been kicked around in the past I remember. Reality it, I just don't have the manpower, nor the time in the day to do anything but try to keep the tracks turning at this point.

I don't think there will be poker runs this year either, since we have no one that will step up to run them. I don't have the time, nor the energy for them anymore.

I understand Neil. It gets real tuff when it all comes down to one person. I'm real disappointed in one bar owner in particular for "not having the time" to help. We're not the only income for the bars and restaurants up there but we sure help a bunch during the winter months.

That's depressing. I think everyone would be more enthusiastic if our winters were better.

Spot on. Hard to organize and plan for events that need snow when we are having winters like this. I would help work it also Wink if we were up there riding that weekend.
